We’re glad you decided to visit Bailey’s Garden.org to learn more about this exciting project. Bailey’s Garden is an ADA compliant playground that we completed in July of 2015 at Lebanon Elementary School in memory of our daughter, Bailey Teresa Shifrin. The initial playground design was completed in conjunction with M.E. O’Brien and Sons of Massachusetts. The playground incorporates accessible play structures for children ages 2-12. It is comprised of accessible ramps in order to enable all children to utilize slides, swings, seesaws, games, and gather in common areas for socialization, and provides parallel play for children on various climbers and “overhead events” (gliders, etc.). The main focus of the playground is the central meeting area that will overlook a large garden (“Bailey’s Garden”) where children of all abilities can gather and play. Thanks to all of you, WE DID IT!!
Now that the playground is completed, we are continuing to honor Bailey’s life and her mission by establishing the Bailey’s Garden Fund. The fund is designated to provide support for others with disabilities and create the access they need to also be “one of the crowd.” As Bailey’s Garden continues to grow, we can all touch countless lives.
